The subject of Motown is back on 3600seconds as our guest for today is Peter Benjaminson; author of "Mary Wells: the tumultuous life of motowns first superstar." Benjaminson is an investigative reporter and and has writtenstories for the Detriot Free Press, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and other publications. His previous book "The Lost Supreme: The life of Dreamgirl Florence Ballard" was published in 2008. Benjaminson knew Wells personally, and details the life of the voice behind the timeless song "My Guy," and "Two Lovers," and her untimely death. This is his 3rd book on Motown records, his next work is said to be on the enigmatic Rick James.
